 | July 22-23 2006. It has been thirty years since the Elk River Sportsmans Club has hosted the NRA State High Power Rifle Championship match. In fact, back then the club ws called the St. Louis Sportsmans club. So it can be said that 2006 was the first time the Elk River Sportsmans club has hosted the match. A lot has changed in the thirty years. Back then it was strictly a 30 caliber game. The AR15s were not even a dream. Bolt rifles ruled, with M14s second. There were still a number of M1s and even a Springfeild or two on the line |

 | Bob Peasley of the Northstar gun Club in Red Wing, Mn. Won the Govenors Trophy for the Minnesota State NRA Championship.
Quote " This is my first win in 23 years and I attribute this success to the left handed Tube Gun and the excellent Phoenix Precision sight. Both have worked flawlessly. I have fired just over 700 rounds thru this .240 NMC Hart bbl. and won both NRA matches that I fired with it. The rest have been practice and load development". End quote.
The match winner score is 779 with 25 X's | |
